The Finnish Center for Preventing and Combating Antisemitism

AVEK ry is a Finnish association committed to combating and preventing antisemitism in all its forms. Our activities are based on expertise supported by researchers, educators, and social and communication professionals.

We build awareness, we promote change

Antisemitism remains a significant issue both globally and here in Finland. The small size and limited visibility of Finland’s Jewish community often result in antisemitism not receiving the attention it deserves. Many fail to recognize antisemitism or may unknowingly perpetuate its manifestations.

AVEK’s mission is to increase awareness and provide practical tools to address antisemitism, whether in public discourse, institutions, or everyday situations.

We provide education to help people recognize and prevent antisemitism. We also raise awareness of the various manifestations of antisemitism, including on social media platforms.

Support and guidance

We offer information, resources, and support to individuals and communities facing antisemitism.

Research and documentation

We collect data and analyze the forms of antisemitism present in Finland, providing fact-based insights to inform decision-making processes.

Our work is rooted in facts and transparency. We aim to identify and correct distorted information that perpetuates prejudice and discrimination. We share reliable and research-based knowledge that enhances understanding of the root causes of antisemitism and supports a fair and equitable society.
